ABOUT DANNISPORT
Dannisport Racing Technology wasn’t created in a boardroom. It was built in the paddock, on the grid, on the track by someone who knew exactly what it felt like to hit the tarmac.
Founder Andy started the brand after racing through the 1980s, competing at club & national level and learning the hard way what happens when kit fails. After spending more time sliding across tarmac than standing on podiums, he became obsessed with one thing - building leathers that actually protect riders when it matters most.
Everything we produce comes from lived experience. We use premium full-grain cowhide in key impact zones, reinforced double layers where crashes hit hardest, and triple and quad stitching with bonded Kevlar and nylon thread. Our suits aren’t designed for instant softness — they’re designed to survive impact. Dannisport is racing heritage, technical precision, and crash-tested trust.
Backed from the start by Men and Motors
In a market flooded with mass-produced replicas and cosmetic race suits, we’ve chosen a different path: made-to-measure, built properly, no shortcuts.
1982
Dannisport founder, Andy Bateson, raced nationally on TZ Yamahas and Suzuki RG 500s, tackling British Nationals and the Manx GP, gaining first-hand insight into what riders really need.
1995
We first attended the Cologne Motorcycle Trade Show, connecting with the factories producing leathers and gloves at the time, sparking the idea to improve racing and road leathers.
Starting with a small range of road leathers before moving into racing suits - Dannisport Racing Technology officially launched. Our first custom racing suits produced with guidance from Pete Wheldon of Speedsport, learning stitching, patterns, and leather quality to pass knowledge to overseas factories.
1996
1997
Early riders Glen Richards, Alan Moreton, and Andi Notman tested suits in crashes, confirming superior durability with double, triple, and quad-stitched layers.
1998
Moving into sponsoring emerging talent including Cal Crutchlow, Tom Sykes, Matt Llewellyn, Karl Harris, Ben Wilson, and Jason Davis; later launching the UK’s first off-the-peg CE-approved race suit.
2004
Operations slowed as the founder focused on family life and continued riding, allowing the brand to regroup and refine its direction before the upcoming rebrand.
2006
After a few years working in the paddock at home, Dannisport relaunched with focus solely on racing gear and gloves, staying close to the sport while refining product quality.
2012
Supported TT Isle of Man and British Superbike riders including Ben Wilson, Joe Irving, Ben Wylie, and emerging talents like Josh Bannister in the Team WD40 squad.
2020
Transitioned fully to made-to-measure race suits, combining premium cowhide and kangaroo leather, CE-approved armour, and advanced stitching techniques for maximum protection and comfort.
2026
Dannisport enters it’s new generation after 3 decades in the sport: championing bespoke race suits, global rider support, innovation in leather technology for the next era of racing.
